Montague's is our brand new indoor, all-year round wedding venue situated between the two walls, opening out into the middle garden.
Stunning inside and out - with more pictures coming soon -Montague's speaks for itself with it's high vaulted ceilings and tall Georgian style windows it has a light and airy feel. The building itself shares an original wall to the garden so adds that historic charm to the modern feel of the building.
You will fall in love, just like we do, every time we walk into it!

Most of our wedding ceremonies take place in the walled garden, however if the British weather isn't on our side you've always got Montagues!
Montagues provides a beautiful backdrop to both your ceremony and wedding breakfast so there is no need to worry about a little rain on the big day!
2023 sees the launch of "Montagues" our new purpose built wedding venue. Our bespoke building opens out into our romantic 19th century walled garden which has beautiful lawns for garden games, outdoor drinks and great photographic backgrounds. Our weddings are tailor made to suit each couple, with dedicated wedding planners and designers available to help and support each couple ensuring their wedding day fulfils their expectations. With high quality local food and drink, which can now be prepared in the new venue kitchen, we have expanded our wedding menus to offer an excellent variety of hot and cold food, to suit all tastes. Montagues can seat 150 guests or accommodate up to 200 people informally for an evening reception. It is an adaptable space that can become more intimate for smaller groups of 40 or more. As a licensed venue civil ceremonies can take place in the garden, in our central wedding pavilion, or in Montagues with a backdrop of the newly designed, beautifully scented wedding garden. The hire charge is inclusive of wedding décor, props and all furnishing. A selection of garden games, use of the licensed fully stocked indoor and outdoor bars, your own dedicated wedding planner and consultations with our in-house designer. We offer a full service and can organise and/or advise on nearly all aspects of planning you special day. We've had some wild guesses as to why the new venue is called Montague's!
But infact it's named after Joseph Montague who inherited the Estate in 1872.
Joseph completely rebuilt the hall on the Estate, which the garden provided for. He had an eclectic style with his love of collecting an assortment of items, which really reflects the current Walled Garden's aesthetic.
The garden walls themselves were built between 1817 and 1826 and share an original wall with 'Montagues' bringing the history of the Walled Garden into the new space.
